How we Operate

In Depth

Sustainable Operations

We rely on our Suppliers delivering a service that is unrivalled by their competitors.

The knock-on-effect of a supplier not delivering is significant to any of our sites, especially if the product we require has a long lead time to source. Each Supplier wanting to be a part of our Supply Chain has to complete a pre-qualification questionnaire. This ensures they meet the required standards set by us and our affiliations. We credit asses our suppliers by either our memberships with Building Confidence or Top Service. This ensures we do not over stretch our supplier’s financial capabilities when using them on several projects all at once.

Quality Materials

It can sometimes be too easy to rely on the goods suppliers offer online or in a catalogue. We strive to ensure that procured materials are accompanied with accreditations or certification by recognised bodies.

Where applicable, we even aim to visit the manufacturer’s premises to view for our own eyes the quality of product we aim to source.

Environmental Sustainability

Sourcing

All Suppliers on our Supply Chain are to ensure that items supplied to us are from a sustainable source. Suppliers should also comply with all relevant legislation including international Labour Organisation Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights of Work the Human Rights Act 1998 and the Ethical Trading Initiative. This forms part of our Building Confidence Accreditation that encompasses social, economic, and environmental impacts.

Packaging

Kelly Group promote the use of materials and its packaging with a high or fully recycled content. This ensures we minimise our waste impacts across all sites.

Life Costs

When Hiring items, we and suppliers should aim to identify the life cost of each item. If as a result the item being hired outweighs the purchase cost of its original new value, then consideration will be taken to purchase as a capital asset.

Pollution

Kelly Group use water-based formwork chemicals as a standard practice. However, sometimes the project may require chemicals that cannot be water based. On these occasions, control measures are taken to ensure that the materials are stored, monitored and disposed of in a safe manner with a full Chain of Custody.

We aim to reduce and eliminate our Noise, Dust and Environmental Pollution to the local environment and in the surrounding areas in which we work. Our Suppliers should adopt a similar ethos when delivering to our projects and in their own working community.

We are working towards ISO 14001 accreditation to demonstrate our competence.

Sustainable Procurement

In all circumstances when procuring, time has to be given as to where the products may have been sourced from. A simple item could have been through many different hands by the time it gets delivered to site. Consideration should be given to the origins of any product. Our affiliation with Building confidence and accreditation standard to BES6001 ensures that we monitor our supply chain and the on-going (COC) Chain of Custody
